Black Hawk Down is one of the best Historical films out there.  Right up there with Tora, tora, tora.  It hits the spot that films like Pearl Habor didn't.  Not surounding the film with love with a women , but love for the men next to you.  It brought alot of attention to a battle that needed.  Most American, didn't know what happen there.  And now with the effects of 9/11 and see the connection of the battle and bin Laden, meant it was a good time for a film like this.  The filmmakerswanted to make the film within a year of the book release.  It was a story that needed to be told.

To the Acting

I thought they did a wonderful casting job.  Taking Josh and putting him in that character where he is just becoming up in rank and respect, which I believe he is gaining in the acting world.

Orlando was placed in a role of the newcomer.  Which he is, a newcomer to the films.  And him falling is one of the reasons that they were screwed.  They won't leave anyone behind so they had to stop and take care of him which caused the chain reaction of people getting sperarted. then a Black Hawk was Hit and shit hit the fan.  So He had a small but important role.

With other Actor like Ewan and Eric Bana.  They just held the film to a leave of realism.  Because you wjould expect Ewan to be in a action film like this and with actor like Eric, he's been in a few War related films so it was as if you could feel he knew the "ropes"  all of these means they had a wide spectum of people, just like the army if filled with.  People you when you see them you like "Yeah he should be there." and some"What the hell are you doing here?"  Casting it was wonderful.

I thought the action was great, though we talked to a man who was there in a class and said "take that fire power and multiply it by 5 and thats what it was llike."  So you know they had to use less for people watching.  I heard they used paintballs so the actors really got hit and they laid explosived where the actors didn't see them so this caused a wonderful reaction.  Where the actors didn't have to acted like they were getting shot, but they really were so acting was easy.

It was a wonderful film, You must see it, if you already haven't.
